What this is

Policy Monitor compares the wording of official policy documents to find out whether language coined by international standards bodies turns up later in national rulebooks. It hunts for identical runs of words, not similar ideas.

What it covers

609 documents from five jurisdictions, roughly 2019 to 2026. National sources include Australia's APRA prudential standards, Canada's OSFI guidance, UK regulators, and the EU. International sources include the Basel Framework, the FSB, IOSCO, BIS and CPMI.

What it has found

Long verbatim passages shared between international standards and national implementations, with dates attached. The clearest example is a 70-word passage in the Basel Framework's credit-risk chapter, published December 2019, that appears word for word in Canada's Capital Adequacy Requirements published September 2026. Six passages span three jurisdictions at once.

What it does not claim

Read the results with the scope in mind. Canada produces the most matches because Canada's full rulebook is in the collection. That is a fact about this corpus, not about which country copies international standards.
